I went to Tokyo for a day of meetings. It was a good day. Managed my time and energy well, although I made a rookie mistake by taking the taxi instead of the train upon arrival.
I decided on a whim to bring my camera and take some photos of the city. The kind of thing I should have done way back, and everything would have been different.
One thing is for sure, just having a better camera does not automagically make you take good pictures. You still need that sense of framing, and timing, and distance, when taking pictures when people are around. I found there was a mental hurdle holding me back in a way. But that'll probably come with experience.
A fountain where the water was taking a break. I like how the organic trees burst out in front of the buildings in the vibrant, post-rain green.
Looking eastwards down a huge street towards the train tracks.
Cute sign. The Japan Educators Association.
Nice looking corner restaurant. The guy in the suit standing by the street had just missed a taxi, and looked pretty annoyed.
The rainy season calls for hydrangea. There are huge bushes scattered about in many cities, and their balls of blooms make for a vibrant sight. When they fall, though, you know it is going to be hot and humid..
Ramen corner shop in Jimbocho.
The off-ramp of one of the highways snaking around the skyscrapers of midtown Tokyo.
